Yamaha Loud Drum Series: Hi, My name’s Dave Jewell, marketing manager for Yamaha Drums. One of the key series of drums that we make is called the Loud series, and what makes this drum very, very unique is the 100% oak shell. Yamaha is one of the only companies that uses 100% oak shell. It’s a very, very hard wood, so this drum is really loud. If you want a loud, attacking, rock and roll snare drum, the Loud series is it. Eight-ply oak shell, we have offset lug casings to give it that look, all of our shells are lacquer finish, and also, we make all of our shells with a diagonal air seal system shell.
