Yamaha DTXpress Electronic Drum Kit: I'm Jim Haylor, Product Manager for Yamaha Drums. This is the DTXpress 4 Electronic Drum Set. This is the standard version. There's also a special version with a bigger snare-drum pad, another cymbal and a more realistic feeling high-hat pad. Now, the cymbals on this kit are three-zone meaning you get the bell, the bow and the edge. The snare-drum pad is three zones - you get the head, rim-shot and a cross stick. There are 53 programmed drum kits to cover just about any style you would want to play. There are another 20 user kits where you can take or program custom kits using any of the on-board sounds. There are also general mini melodic instruments inside that you can trigger from the pads. And you can stack up to two different voices per pad to either trigger simultaneously or velocity layer. Depending on how hard you hit, it'll trigger a different voice. Comes with a pre-configured labeled cable snake, so it's real simple. The cable is labeled and the input is labeled, so it's really easy to cymbal. It's plug and play right out of the box. The kick tower has got a natural feel, so it feels more like playing an acoustic bass-drum. And you can put a double pedal on it if you want to play faster more like, double bass rifts and stuff. Each of the tom-tom inputs can be split with a stereo splitter. So you can actually add more pads to the kit as well. Very realistic feeling, great sounding kit. It's got several of our most popular acoustic kits like maple custom, the birch custom and the oak custom are in here. Also has some great educational features. Has a programmable click so you can choose the different time signatures you're practicing in. It's got subdivisions so you can break it down into eighths quarter note, 16ths quarter note, triplets. Has a groove check function that will show you if you're playing on the click, ahead of it or behind it. And a rhythm gate feature that will actually mute out any hit that's out of time. There's a challenge mode in the rhythm gate where you can actually, it'll count down from 99 hits to zero and give you a degree of accuracy. With an on-board sequencer, with pre-programmed songs you can play along with. You can mute out the drum track or the rhythm track and just play along with the bass player. And you can also record your performance and listen back to it to critique it. I'm Jim with Yamaha. This is the DTXpress 4 Electronic Drum Set.
