Volkl Unlimited AC30 – About: The Unlimited AC30 has been a favorite in the Volkl line for a number of years. It’s probably the one ski that just about anyone who walks into a ski shop could buy. It has a 76mm waist, so when you buy new skis you always want to think about the type of conditions you want to use them in and with that 76mm waist you can carve groomed snow or you can actually float in the softer snow. So you have an incredible range of versatility in terms of what conditions you can ski on the AC30.

Volkl Unlimited AC30 - Extended Double Grip: The AC30 features our extended double grip construction. So, the extended double grip puts more material over the edges and less material in the middle of the ski. When you try to make a turn on hard snow, you have the support of all that material over the edge. Then again, you have a nice soft flex because of these channels being dug in the middle of the ski.

Volkl Unlimited AC30 - Motion IPT and Piston: The AC30 has our motion IPT system, and it uses some very high-end Marker components with that. It actually also features our piston control technology. Piston control quiets the ski’s ride, so as you go through bumpy snow and different terrain you actually quiet down the ski’s ride with that piston.

Volkl Unlimited AC30 - Who the ski is for: The AC30 is designed for advanced to expert skiers. It does have a very high-end construction with a full wood core and our extended double grip. But even an intermediate skier can have a good time on the AC30. All the Volkl skis are very easy to handle because of the easy flex that the motion IPT system and the extended double grip construction allows. But in general it’s designed for advanced to expert skiers.

Volkl Unlimited AC30 - Unlimited series intro: The biggest thing to think about when you’re buying new skies is what kind of snow conditions are you going to use them in, and the Volkl Unlimited series has always been a favorite for all-conditions skiing. That means you want to ski everything, from groomed to powdered snow. The AC3 motion features what we call our power grip construction, so that’s a construction that’s designed for improving skiers. It puts a little more material out towards the edges to give you more edge grip and then in the middle of the ski there’s not as much material so it flexes really easily.
