Titleist Pinnacle 909 Series Drivers

Titleist Pinnacle 909 Series Drivers: Hello. My name is Dan Stone. I’m Vice President in charge of Research and Development for Titleist Clubs. I’d like to talk a little bit today about the 909 series of drivers. It’s based on some years of research that we’ve done and looking at launch conditions on tour and in the marketplace—both launch and ball speeds. Launch angles really produce different ball flights of course, but the attack angles are really the cause of that launch angle. We noticed at the PGA tour level that launch conditions were…or attack angles I would say…are anywhere from minus five to plus five. It’s a big range—big variation. In the marketplace, it’s even wider than that. It’s probably double that amount. So the philosophy that we had is we could not really achieve maximum fitting four players with a single driver. So that’s why we developed three in the 909 Series, each of them giving different launch conditions to allow the player to achieve maximum distance. Again my name is Dan Stone.
