12ft - About: This is Volkl's Tigershark 12 Foot. One of the most important things to think about when you're going to buy a new pair of skis is, "What kind of conditions do I want to use them in?" What the 12 Footer gives you is a ski you can ride in groomed snow conditions for the most part. If you want to take them in the bumps, with the 12 Footer you can occasionally take them into the softer snow. But what this ski is best at is skiing fast on the front side of the mountain. So if you're an advanced to expert skier and you like that kind of skiing, you'll love the 12 Foot. The Tigershark 12 Foot utilizes our Extended Double Grip construction. What that is are these raised channels on the outside of the ski. They provide tremendous support for the edge, right above the edge. The channels are actually a little less deep in the middle of the ski, and that allows the ski to flex incredibly easily. So the Extended Double Grip construction gives you a combination of really easy flex and easy handling with incredible edge grip. So it's really the best of both worlds and it's what gives the Volkl Tigershark skis their incredible, smooth ride quality. The other thing that the Tigershark features is our Motion iPT system. That's a system that is incredibly well integrated into the ski design, and it's a very tight interface between the binding and the ski. It's perhaps the most direct power transmission of any ski binding system. With a 79mm waist, the Tigershark 12 Foot gives you incredible carving on the front side of the mountain. How that done is, the tip and tail are really wide on the Tigershark so they really pull you into the turn really well, and then the 79mm waist is really easy to stand on. It gives you an incredibly stable platform. So, for the frontside skier who wants to maybe take a couple of trips into the backside over the course of the season, the Tigershark 12 Foot is a great way to go.
