10 ft Power Switch—About: One of the most important things to think about when you're going to buy new skis is the conditions that you're hoping to use them in, so the TigerShark 10ft Power Switch is an ideal ski to ski the front side of the mountain or the parts of the mountain that are groomed, maybe a little bit of mogules. It's a top end ski, so if you're an advanced to expert skier you're going to love the 10 ft Power Switch. It features a 73 millimeter waist, so that's narrow enough to carve really good turns on the groomed. It has a very ample side cut, so the shape of the ski is very wide at the tip, a little narrower at the waist, and then very wide at the tail, so that sharp side cut really pulls you into the turn, and that's what make it such a good ski for skiing on the groomed slopes. The TigerShark 10ft Power Switch features are extended double grip construction, and how that works is we stack a tremendous amount of material directly over the edge, and then we put less material in the middle of the ski, so those raised channels by the edges provide tremendous support to the edge and that gives you really good edge grip. With the middle of the ski being a little lower, that gives you tremendous flex, so what you have is a ski that is incredibly easy to handle but yet offers incredible edge grip at the same time. The 10ft Power Switch also features our marker motion IPT system, and IPT stands for internal power transmission, so what that does is it's very much integrated into the body of the ski, and when you connect that binding with a very tight interface to the ski, you have a tremendous power from edge to edge. So, everything about the TigerSharks is about performance.
Volkl TigerShark 10ft Ski - Power Switch
10 ft Power Switch - Power Switch: The TigerSharks Power Switch skis also feature the world's first on-board ski power adjustment, and that's called the Power Switch technology. The Power Switch technology has three settings, and when I move this dial here in the back, it actually works through these carbon fiber rods that go inside the channels of the ski all the way to the front. Those carbon fiber rods push up against springs in the front of the ski, and when those springs become compressed they energize the ski. The most relaxed setting is called the Cruise setting, but if I go from the Cruise setting to the Dynamic setting, I compress those springs in the front of the ski about half way, and that gives me a little more lively, a little more energetic ride. As I turn the switch all the way up to the Power setting, which is the third setting, I compress the springs completely, and give the ski a ton of energy. If you're riding out there first thing in the morning and you're very energized, you have a chance to make your ski as energized as you are. As the end of the day comes and you want to dial back the ride and make it a little easier to handle, you can dial it back to reflect the way you want to ski on the ski. So, the TigerShark 10 ft Power Switch, a very very nice front side carving ski with all the bells and whistles, all the technology that Volkl has to offer.
