TC Electronic Rebel Head 450

TC Electronic Rebel Head 450: Hi, my name is Uver Hanson. I'm with TC Electronic and I'd like to tell you a little bit about this brand new bass amp called Rebel Head 450 that we're just introducing. Rebel Head 450 is not the ordinary bass amp that you would find with most guys out there on the market. We've done a couple of extra things to make sure that the life of a bass player becomes a little bit easier. As you can tell, for starters, it's a slightly different looking stack with a couple different cabinets and a 450 watt class D amp right there on top. And just to talk a little bit about the amp first, what it does apart from just being a really nice, great sounding bass amp with a really nice tone to it, is that it has a couple of extra features in here that are really cool for all the different bass players. Now first of all, it's a very very straightforward setup. The controls are very very familiar to all the bass players. So regular tone controls, the gain, the master knob and everything. But one of the really cool things that we found that we could do for the bass players is, for instance, to add a chromatic tuner. So right here we have a chromatic tuner. Let me just grab this. We have a chromatic tuner that is constantly on so everybody can tell, all you bass players can tell whether you're in tune while playing. So great little thing to include there rather than having, you know, the regular tuner out on the back panel that all you other guys have. Another highlight of the amp is the fact that it has user memory. So we have three user memories where you can store any of your sounds down here. And I realize that not a lot of bass players have a lot of different sounds. That's mostly a guitar player feature usually but what we found in talking to the bass players is that usually if you bring more than one bass, you actually do need a couple of different settings. So anything you see on a light ring right here will be stored right away in these three user memories. It's real easy. You just press and hold and when it blinks you've stored a preset. You can go on and design another preset. Press and hold. Boom, you've stored it. Really really easy. Another couple of highlights on the amp right here is the ?[spectracom], which is a three bank compressor that compresses rather than doing the entire frequency range it does compression on the lows and the mids and the highs at the same time. So it independent compression in those three areas which essentially means that you get what you really want from a compressor. You get the snappiness and the tightness you really want from your sound without killing your dynamics like you usually do with full bank compressors. Last but not least, on the front panel we have a two-tone which is a knob that goes all the way from just a touch of the true sound that you know from all of those big 70s, 60s designs of amps and all the way up to a real fuzzy kind of thing. So it definitely gives you a choice of what the sound should be like in your bass amp. Speaking about the entire rig a little bit more we have a couple of different cabinets that you can choose from. This right here is the Rebel Stack 212. Two twelve-inch drivers, [unintelligible] driver in a dual-concentric configuration in the top driver, but what is mostly unique about this particular way of stacking things is the fact that you get two cabinets that actually gets you the floor contact and full on low end that you really want from the lower cabinet and at the same time you get the height from the top cabinet which gives you the perfect, you know, monitoring back of what you're really playing so that you can actually hear what's going on with your cabinet. We have a 212 and a 210 cabinet that we are introducing together with the amp. Last but not least, we have a small foot switch which allows you to get the full on tune indication at all times, the mute button and the three presets that we just talked about, or memories that we just talked about. So all in all, Rebel Head 450, Rebel Stack, Cabinets 212 and 210, and Rebel Controller.
