Sony Professional Audio MDR7509 Headphones: Hi, I’m Paul Foschino. I’m with Sony Professional Audio. I’d like to tell you a little bit about our professional headphones. This model here is the top of our line. This is the MDR7509-HD. Now this is a new headphone for us and this has been a new piece introduced above the very popular 7506 headphone. We designed this piece specifically to be able to deliver and handle more volume, more power, and more bottom end. We had gotten a request from the recording studios that were using our 7506 headphones, for something that would deliver more bass and a louder volume because there was a lot of new music coming out with a lot of pounding bass that they would be able to handle in their headphones. So now we have the 7509-HD. Now the HD model actually delivers to you what we would call almost high definition audio. The drivers are an exceptional design. They’ve actually been angled in so that you can actually put them on your head and the drivers are facing towards your ear. That means you can listen at a lower volume, hear clear sound, and you don’t have the fatigue that could be associated with hours and hours of wearing a headphone. They’re also a very large, soft, comfortable pad. So that when it rests on the side of your head, you’re not pressing your ears to your head and you can wear them for an extended period of time without feeling uncomfortable in wearing them. Also, you have a very soft padded headstock, a very durable cable. And it’s a coiled cable design, which allows you to keep it out of the way when you’re working on a console or moving back and forth with an instrument in your hand.
