Sony Bravia VE5 and V5100 Models - About

Sony Bravia VE5 and V5100 Models – About: Hi, my name’s Ernie Block, and I’d like to tell you about a couple of great new television sets that’ll be shipping as part of the Sony Bravia line of TVs this year. Now, the VE5 models are specifically designed for customers that are interested in a Bravia TV from Sony that’s designed to be eco-friendly and especially low on consumption of electricity. Now the three cool features that make these televisions truly special are very easy to understand. First, I’d like to explain that every Bravia television set this year well exceeds the latest Energy Star requirements, so we’re a very eco-friendly company in general because we feel that’s the right thing to do. More and more consumers are interested in saving electricity. First, these three TVs, which will be available in 40, 46, and 52-inch screen size, will have approximately 40% less power usage than the same size Bravia TV this year, and you can see that from the voltmeters we have hooked up to these two sets. On the lower end is the V50/100 model Bravia, and on the upper side of the set is the same size VE5 eco-Bravia HDTV definitely using about 40% less power. Now another cool feature of these TVs we’ll have is the eye that you see in the middle of the television set, and that’s basically a feature we at Sony call presence sensor. What that means is if your kids ever fall asleep in front of the TV while they’re watching late at night, maybe their friends come over and you try to get them to stay in front of the TV but they want to go in the backyard and they leave that set on, you can turn this feature on or off, and at a variable amount of time that the customer sets, you can actually have the TV turn itself off if no one is moving around in front of it. It’s a very, very cool feature called presence sensor. In addition, we also have a very cool feature in the VE5 models which we call the energy saving switch. Now not everyone knows this, but the TV still has the traditional power switch on the TV and the remote control, but if you use those, the TV still uses a little bit of electricity, what we call a trickle charge. If you use a hard switch we call the energy saving switch on the right side of the set, the customer, if they go away from home for a couple of weeks, can turn the set off completely so it’s not using any electricity. So with these three features, we really feel that the Sony VE5 models of Bravia eco-friendly HDTVs will have a special place in the TV lineup this year for our eco-conscious customers who are growing every single day.
