Alpina Solution Cross-Country Skis - About: This is our model solution. This has been one of our most popular skis that we have had in the line for a long period of time. This one here is slightly wider than our model Tempas. Its 64 in the middle, its 52 at the waist,it has a lot of side cuts. The skis are very lively to ski on. It can be easily used, audit tracked, but its great in track. The wider platform under the foot gives that extra stabililty. The ski lengths are skeed a little bit shorter because if you a little wider ski, you don't need to have it longer in order to give you the good floatation in the snow. It also has a molded pattern on the bottom. This is a raised surface. Its like a fish scale type base that actually gives you a very very good grip and glide. This is placed in the middle third of the ski. This is all done according to the weight, so its very very simple to pick the right skis. The four sizes, as I said, are weight based and the pattern is set on the bottom accordingly. There is a glide zone on the front and back and this area should always have some type of glide wax. It can be spray-on, it can be wipe-on, but its very important to keep your skis good and lubricated, so you have good glide and grip at the same time. It also has our pattern to scuff-tuff. This type of material you can see, its a rough surface which also releases the snow at the top and add some durabiilty to the ski.
