Roland TD-4S

Roland TD-4S: The TD-4 has 25 drum sets and 125 sounds. This first one, called V Compact because this is the V Compact series, is kind of like a standard kit for the first of the 25. The advantages: I can choke symbols. I can slash the hi-hat. Gloss sensitivity for the bell. I can also record myself if I press the record button. It engages on the screen there. It will play back what I recorded. I can also record myself with the metronome. As soon as I start, it engages. When I play it back, it’s really cool because it will tell me if I’m on the beat or off the beat, a really cool coaching feature. Let’s hear a couple more kits. Here’s the heavy kit, a nice rock hit. All right. We also have different things like a studio kit. All right, I’ll show you a couple of other things we have. So for example on percussion, we have the ability to do different sounds. The harder I hit, the slap sound. The drum and bass, the bass sounding like a techno sounding up-tempo. Now something that’s pretty unique, I don’t know if we can check it out, but the screen that you’re going to see over here on my screen is going to show in a minute one of the coach features. So let me show you in a sec. When I go down to a regular drum set here, let’s get the reggae kit. If I hit coach, it’s going to say warm up. So we’re going to be able to control warm up for five, ten, fifteen minutes. The time check, which you’ve seen, as well as tempo check. So for example, tempo check. Once I press the metronome to start and I start playing, you’re going to see those little circles on the bottom start to fill in. That basically means that you can hear the metronome going down. So it helps me. I want to stay on. When I stay on the metronome, the volume goes down, which means I’m right in time. If the volume comes back up, it means I need help, and the metronome is guiding me. So it’s pretty cool stuff. I can also show you that we also have stuff like house drum set. We’ve all heard that. And all the instruments are able to totally be put anywhere you like. You can edit how you like. We have tuning. Tuning is a good one. Check this out. If I have a snare drum and press the tuning button, I can tune just by a number system using the value wheel. And also you can muffle any of the drums or toms. There’s quite a bit of muffling there. Awesome stuff. That basically wraps ups the TD-4, and you can also use your mix in to be able to create something to play along with. Use the 1/8-inch input jack to be able to play along with your MP3 player, or in this case, the MPS sample pack. So I’ll leave you with a little piece, and I hope that everyone has a good day. So let me show you real quick and get started.

Roland V-Drums

Roland V-Drums: Hey, everybody. I’m Johnny Rapp, and today I’m playing the Roland T-4S Drum Set. We’re going to get to that in a second, but we have a full line of electronic drums and percussion that’s perfect for any ed user. Starting with the HD-1, now a revolutionary HD-1 drum tutor software, it’s fantastic stuff to be able to show somebody how to play drums and learn how to play drums by notation on a screen to your PC. And then the next one up from the HD-1 drum set is the TD-4. We also have the TD-9, TD-12, and TD-20, so a full range of electronic drums and percussion for you to use. Let me go ahead and explain some of the benefits of using V drums. One is completely quiet practice. For example, you wouldn’t even hear me at home if I put headphones on. It would sound like this: nothing. Even with the little mike I have on, it barely picks it up. So quiet practice if you live in an apartment or a house that doesn’t want to be able to have a lot of noise.
