About Crimplock Symmetry Fiberskin Drumhead: I’m Herbie with Remo and I am the Director of Engineering and R&D. I’d like to explain a little bit about the Remo Crimplock Symmetry conga head, in particular this one which is fiberskin film. The difference in crimplock symmetry versus our older style is mainly the way that we pleat the skirting and film. Basically, you can see that it’s predetermined folds so the folds are determined by the size of the film, the size of the head. What it does, it creates a much more uniform drumming. It gives you a much more uniform volume than our older style with aluminum loop. It also fits a much larger range of drums. If you have a Toca drum or an LP drum or one of the other manufacturers, it fits a larger range of drums than it used to fit. The fiberskin lamination gives you a little bit more of a warmer sound. It’s good for live playing as well as recording. Good all around drumhead. Also, it’s able to produce a nuances that you get from where your hand slides back and forth on the film. Again, especially in a recording situation, you get those types of nuances. That is our Crimplock Symmetry Fiberskin Drumhead.
