Pivot Mach 5 Women's Mountain Bike: Hi, I’m Adam from Pivot Cycles. This is the Pivot Mach 5 for women. This is a 5 ½” travel bike built for serious mountain bikers. What we’ve done here to differentiate the bike from our uni-sex bikes, is that we’ve gone through and on the smaller sizes we’ve tuned to lighter weight riders. We can fit a rider down to 4’8” with our double extra small and our extra small bikes. Someone that small, that size doesn’t need a bike that is as burly as a large or an extra large. We’ve gone through and tuned the tube sets. Made them lighter, made them smaller diameter so the smaller rider is pushing essentially a smaller bike. A bike that weights less but still has all of the performance features of the larger sizes. On a bike like this, 5 ½” of travel front and rear, a real focus on pedaling efficiency. This is a very fast trail bike built for riding technical trails and can also be built up really light weight for marathon events or 24 hour races. We’ve done exceptionally well with the bikes for women. We’ve added some new colors for 2009. I really think the Pivot Mach 5 is going to be a very successful offer.
