Pentax K2000 Digital SLR Camera: Hi, I'm John Carlson, the manager of product marketing and support with Pentax, and I want to talk to you about our K2000. This is Pentax's entry-level DSLR body. What that means is the camera is really designed for someone who's just stepping up from a point and shoot camera to an SLR camera. That gives you the advantage of interchangeable lenses. Also higher quality images. This camera has a 10 megapixel sensor, so it gives you very high quality images that you can crop and re-compose in camera. It's got auto picture modes, where the camera will actually select the proper mode for the shooting conditions you're in, but it also gives you the ability to select differe, more advanced exposure options. This camera contains the Pentax shake-reduction technology, which allows you to take better hand-held pictures in lower lighting conditions. It's very compact, easy to carry around, very light weight. What's also nice for entry level photographers: it's got a dedicated help button. You press this button along with any button or dial on the camera, and the instructions of how you use that and what that button is show up on the LCD panel on the back of the camera. So it's really ideal for someone who wants to take the step up from a point and shoot, but doesn't want an extremely advanced camera.
