Panasonic ZS Camera Series – About: Hi, I'm Matt Frasier, Training Manager for Panasonic and today we are going to be covering the ZS Series. The ZS Series is our compact, super zoom series of cameras. All of the ZS Series will include 10megapixel sensors and all of them will include the same high quality like a lense. They are going to start at a very wide 25mm, so when you're sitting around the Thanksgiving table and you've got to fit everybody in the shot, you're not going to have to tear a wall out behind you to get everybody into the frame, but they can zoom all the way out to 300mm, which gives this little tiny pocket able camera a 12 times optical zoom lense. It's a class leading optic in this product. On top of that, the ZS series incorporates our wealth of intelligent auto functions. Some of the highlighted auto functions are going to be features like our intelligent scene selection. So with this camera, I can point it right at a subject and what would be a macro shot, the camera will automatically select the macro mode for me so I don't have to think about it. No more blurry photos on eBay with this. If I go and I point the camera at my subject and it’s a portrait, it will automatically select portrait. The camera is even smart enough to recognize landscapes so no more thinking about what scene mode is best for this application. Another intelligent auto function that is included in select models is our auto focus tracking, so when you point this camera at your subject, you can lock it in so no matter where they move they will stay in perfect focus. This also speeds up the focus system, so you have less shutter lag. On the ZS Series an additional feature on select models is high quality high definition video. A lot of cameras have high definition video, but what you have to ask is what software is going to be available for editing it and how many frames per second does it shoot at, how many minutes can I film before I have to stop and restart. You don’t need to think about any of those things with this camera. This camera has plenty of editing software available because it uses the ABC HD compression format. Lots of software can edit this. Because of ABC HD it literally records twice as many minutes of video per GB. At the highest possible quality, you'll get 7 minutes per GB on this camera. Most camera's will only give you about 3 ½ minutes per GB. Finally you can hit record and just record on this camera until it fills the memory card. There's no limitation on time because there is lack of buffer. So this is a high power, super powerful, high definition camera along with being a still camera.
