Panasonic Underwater TS Camera Series - About

Panasonic Underwater TS Camera Series – About: Hi, I'm Matt Frazier, field training manager for Panasonic. Today we're going to talk about our submergable underwater TS series of cameras for 2009. What makes this camera special, aside from the fact you can go ahead and dunk this thing 10 feet under water and take it scuba diving. You drop it from a drop about four feet, it's going to survive that. You go ahead and shove this in the dust, it's going to be dust resistant. It also incorporates a Leica lens. So, you're getting a high quality Leica lens. That starts at a rather wide 28 millimeter wide angle lens and goes out to four times zoom. In addition, it incorporates our suite of intelligent auto functions. So, within an intelligent auto some of the highlight features are going to be our intelligent scene selection. So, when I'm taking this shot of a portrait, it's going to automatically select a portrait mode for me. Making sure that I've got a nice soft background, nice sharp foreground. If I go ahead and point this at a landscape, it's going to go to the landscape mode. And finally, no more blurry photos on Ebay folks. I take this camera point it into a macro function, it'll automatically select a macro mode for me. No need to think about it. Now, aside from being a high quality still camera, this camera also incorporates our AVC HD high definition video. Recording at 720p resolution, it has a couple of advantages over some other cameras. First, shoots at 60 frames a second. So, it's going to have smooth fluid video. Second, it stores seven minutes per giga byte at the highest possible quality. That's double the storage of most point and shoot cameras on the market today. And third, you've got the ability to control zoom with this camera. Not just blocked in, and not just having to worry about it constantly being out of focus as you zoom. It is a full functioning, high quality camcorder. A couple of additional features we've incorporated in this camera — one of them is our intelligent auto tracking function. With auto tracking, all I have to do is point the camera at my subject. I can lock them in for focus. And no matter where they move, it's going to keep them in focus. In addition it speeds up the camera, because they don't have to wait on it to focus anymore. So, less shutter lag when you go to take their picture. And finally, we have our facial recognition built into this camera. With this camera I can take and store up to six people's names attached to their faces. Then when I point at a subject, if they're in my facial recognition favorites six, it's going to immediately recognize their face and give me their name. It's also going to make sure they're properly exposed and in perfect focus. You see when you're at a recital with 25 kids, all you care about is your kid. You don't care about everybody else's. Facial recognition guarantees your kid is the focus of this camera. And then when you connect this camera to your computer, you're going to immediately be able to extract your photos to the computer. And with the supplied software it will categorize everybody, and leave their photos in their own special folder. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and then search your hard drive from your older cameras. And get every single picture you've ever taken, and have it lumped into those categories as well. Finally, the camera stores six. But on the camera, it'll recognize up to — I'm sorry — on the computer it'll recognize up to 10 faces. So you — provides a great tool for finding and sorting and organizing your life.
