Olympus Underwater Housings - About

Olympus Underwater Housings: Hi! I’m Andy Bowsk. I’m the Sales and Marketing Specialist for the Underwater and Outdoor Products at Olympus. And I do what to show you our line of underwater housings. We make underwater housings for both our point-and-shoots and our digital SLRs. This is one of our point-and-shoot housings. This happens to go to the Stylus Tough-8000. It’s our PT-O45. Some features that are unique to Olympus and really nice about the housings is we’ve designed it in black so you won’t get lens flare if you’re using external strobe. Also, it has a one-button rotary design, so one buckle to open it and close it will get you into the housing. It makes it real, real easy to get the camera in and out. These are waterproof to 131 feet, 40 meters, so it will support any sport diving that you do. We also make housings for our digital SLRs. This is for our E-520. What’s unique about this housing is the camera has something in it called remote control mode, which will allow you to use our underwater strobes underwater and control them by using the camera. You don’t have to reach up to the strobe at all. So what I can do is I can bring up a window on my LCD screen here. I can set one strobe to channel A, one strobe to channel B, and control the flashes from the camera. That’s a unique feature to Olympus. There’s really nobody else that’s doing that. For our compact cameras, we also have an underwater strobe. Again, really, really easy to use. This one fires on an optical slave, so the camera flash will fire this flash, and everything is TTL compatible, which means through the lens completely automatic. And that’s our line of underwater housings.
