Nicklaus Golf Polarity MTR Iron: Hi, I’m Clay Long, and I serve as chief designer for Nicklaus Golf Equipment Company. Today, we’re going to take a look at the Polarity MTR Iron. The Polarity MTR is the most forgiving iron currently available in golf today. The reason for this is the extreme weighting technology that you see here exhibited in this design. We have some weight behind the hozzle here and counterweight here on the low toe. This provides a much greater distance to spread weight from heel to toe than the conventional heel toe distance that you see here. The result is an extremely high moment of inertia iron with perfect balance and perfect center of gravity location. The resulting iron is a very long-hitting, very solid feeling iron, and actually, the most forgiving iron available in golf today. It exhibits a nice cavity back here with a urethane insert to dampen vibration to make the club exceedingly solid at impact, and it has an extremely pleasing look behind the golf ball, as is required by all Nicklaus premium equipment which comes directly from Jack Nicklaus himself.
