Nicklaus Golf ML3 Offset Driver: Hi, I'm Clay Loan and I serve as chief designer for Nicklaus Golf Equipment Company. Today we're going to look at the DualPoint ML3 Offset driver, a new product for 2009. The ML3 offset is a very pleasing shape with an elongated back to increase the moment of inertia this year over last year's product and make the club more forgiving. The club exhibits the three level multi-layer face this year for enhanced ball speed and higher CT. This face is designed with thinner sections on the corners of the face, medium thickness sections in the middle, and a thicker section in the center. This provides a little less weight in the face, and we've taken that weight and distributed it around the perimeter of the club to actually make the club more forgiving than last year's model. The elongated shape also enhances the moment of inertia, but we've done it in a very pleasing shape behind the golf ball, something that would be very important to Jack Nicklaus that the club looks good behind the golf ball. The offset version, as you can see, the head is set backwards behind the hozel. Now what this does it move the center of gravity behind the shaft access a little bit more and makes the club have a tendency to close on impact. It also increases the dynamic loft on impact, which ultimately gives you a golf club that hits the ball higher and to the left, which of course is very important particularly for the middle and higher handicapped players that struggle with balls going to the right. The new multi-layer also exhibits the corrogated sole design in which we have a number of multi-layer and corrogations on the sole to dampen vibrations and give the club excellent sound on impact. All in a package that helps you hit the ball to the left a little bit, a little less right bias, straighten out those slices, and make the game a lot more fun to play. And that's the ML3 Offset driver for 2009 from Nicklaus Gof Equipment Company.
