Nicklaus Golf ML3 Driver: Hi, I'm Clay Loan and I serve as the chief designer for Nicklaus Golf Equipment Company. Today we're going to talk about the new ML3 driver. ML3 stands for multi-layer 3. The new driver has been elongated somewhat from last year's model to increase the moment of inertia and the forgiveness of the driver. We've done this in a very pleasing shape, and this comes obviously from working closely with Jack Nicklaus and his desire to have products that look good behind the ball as well as perform good. The new multi-layer face is designed around three levels of thickness across the face. We've cut a little material out of the heel and toe corners to reduce the weight of the face, and we used that weight in the periphery of the club to increase forgiveness and to more perfectly balance the golf club in its final form. It results in a thick center, medium thickness on the outside edges, and then the thinnest part in the corners; thus the ML3 designation. This design ultimately produces very high ball speeds off the face, almost limit CT or COR performance. In addition to that, we've designed the sole with a number of different corrogations and levels on it to dampen vibrations to keep the sound of the club as pleasing as possible. It's something I think that everyone is accustomed to in the marketplace as some drivers are awfully loud and some drivers actually sound quite good. We've gone to great lengths to make sure that this driver has a great sound and impact as well as terrific performance with the golf ball.
