Ludwig Stainless Steel

Ludwig Stainless Steal: Ludwig was one of the first drum companies to make drums out of stainless steel. In fact, the first metal drums that we made, originally in the early 1900s, were the result of the need for a higher fundamental tone and pitch. This is an anniversary edition stainless steel kit. It has a 0.5 millimeter solid stainless steel milled shell. It comes in a three piece configuration with a 13-rack, a 16-floor, and a 24-inch kick drum. There are two different finishes that we're introducing here for the anniversary year. We're only making a hundred kits. Fifty of those are gonna be in this high polished chrome stainless steel with brass hardware. We wanted this to look like a luxury watch and so this is kind of what we came up with. The next one is going to be the brushed stainless steel with high polished chrome hardware, an amazing innovation from the Ludwig's in the 70s and something we're carrying on this year. There is a deep amount of resonance that comes off of this shell and something that is really unheard of in other drums. Something else we're really excited about is hardware innovation that we're coming into in our hundredth anniversary. This is our universally gyroscopic tilter for cymbals. It's uniball position allows it to be placed at any angle anywhere, anytime. And it's very sturdy, very solid, handles a lot of abuse. And of course it includes our standard keystone classic shape into the tilter.
