La Sportiva Wildcat

La Sportiva Wildcat: Hi, I'm Laura from La Sportiva, and I'm here talking to you today about the La Sportiva Wildcat. The Wildcat is a mountain running, trail running shoe, that has a simplified upper. It's an extremely stable and cushioned shoe of ours. It's built on the AT Axis outsole. It has the Impact Brake System technology, which is a patent of La Sportiva North America, and has a Trail Cage mesh upper with UreTech coating for abrasion along any rock, or when you're pounding on the trails. It also has an integrated gator, to keep out any debris, or sand, or rocks. And also allows for a really precise fit. The Wildcat also has a Transkinetic Heel Stabilizer in the back, that's actually meant to increase your stability, and also helps on downhill, essentially a wobble in your ankle. And another great thing about the Wildcat is underneath the actual foot bed in the shoe, when you get it, is a layer of, you see the blue inside the shoe, that is actually a two millimeter layer of EVA, which is meant for, as soon as you get it on your foot, you can immediately feel, not only the cushion from the outsole, but also the cushion from the EVA layer. And allows for miles and miles of abuse. This is the La Sportiva Wildcat men's, and this is the La Sportiva Wildcat women's. All of our women's shoes are actually built on a women-specific last, taking into account a lower calf, and narrower volume of a woman's foot. So again, this is the La Sportiva Wildcat.

La Sportiva Impact Brake System

La Sportiva Impact Brake System: Hi there, I'm Jonathan with La Sportiva North America, and I'm going to go into some detail here about the Impact Brake System technology, which you'll find in several of our shoes in our lines. We have it on our hiking lines, mountain running, our approach, and then also in our mountaineering. Basically the Impact Brake System is a really simple technology that we developed in collaboration with Vibram, where we take the lugs of the soles and we have them in slanting, opposed patterns on the sole. And if you look at the sole in detail, you can see that certain lugs are higher than others on the sole. And what this does is as these slanting, opposed lugs, some are higher on the sole, and some are lower. What it does is it's a natural technology that increases the breaking power of the soles by 20 percent, and then it also increases the cushioning by 20 percent as well. If you look at these shoes you can see all the lugs through here, and they're all opposed at different angles. And this gives you excellent traction. And this is on the B5, which is in our approach line. And then another shoe that we have it on is the Crosslite. You can see that these lugs are extremely pronounced, and very sharp and jagged. And what this actually does it's really nice because as you impact on the surface that you're running, hiking, or walking on, the lugs actually deform and absorb the impact forces that are acting upon your body that are absorbed by the lugs on the shoe. Then you can also see it on our hiking line. This is the Onix. You can see the Impact Brake System design on here. And then also on our new FC series soles, we also have the Impact Brake System on these soles as well. It's a really nice technology that's really easy. Doesn't have fancy bells or whistles, but it really gets the job done really well. Once again, I'm Jonathan with La Sportiva.
