Ski Pro K2 Zeppelin Snowboard - About

Ski Pro K2 Zeppelin Snowboard - About: So, guys, this is Nick coming to you from Ski Pro. Tonight I want to talk to you about the K2 Zeppelin. It's the signature board from K2. This thing has been around for a little over a decade. I think maybe this is its 12th year in production. It definitely is one of their signature rides. I'd put this up against a Burton Custom, for example. A great all-mountain freestyle board. It has a bit of a twin shape but with a slightly set back stance. It's 3/4" on the reference, so it gives you a little longer on the nose and tail; keeps you floating in the powder. This board is definitely fast and stiff. It has a high grade Sintered base, so it's fast right out of the bag but will also maintain its wax for a good long time. I definitely recommend a hand wax on this thing. On the interior it has stiffer glass than what you'll find in most of the rest of the boards in the line, along with three torsion forks: one that's made out of carbon and two that are made out of titanium. They go from directly under the inserts to the contact points on the edges, so it makes your transitions really fast. It also allows you to load the tip and the tail with a ton of power. You'll get lots of pop out of this board. A great board to ride all over the mountain. Take it though the park, take it to the peak, it will do whatever you want. It also has their Hybritaper construction so you'll notice that as it goes toward the tip and the tail it runs into what is a cap construction, so it thins out the profile of the board and allows for less swing weight. So, easier spins, easier turn initiation; it just makes it a bit of an easier board to ride. It is somewhat demanding. I've had two Zeppelins in the past. They are fast. They are fun. But they are not the easiest boards to ride, so a bit more of that intermediate to advanced rider. You will definitely get smooth, consistent feel out of this board. It also matches up exceedingly well either with the Cinch CTX if you want tons of response with it-- easy rear entry system-- or the Auto Ever binding. That will also give you good response, but with a little different profile, so make sure you check out our videos on the Auto Ever. One new addition for this year is the Zeppelin Wide. You can now jump on something that's made for those bigger footed riders, so you can still get all of the high performance out of a Zeppelin even if you've got a really large boot.
