About GV Snowshoes Modified Bear Paw

About GV Snowshoes Modified Bear Paw: We’re going to start here with where our company began, with the traditional oak wood snowshoe. It’s steam-plied wood with some actual leather rawhide material (which is cow hide that is not tanned). We get it in big skins. We get it wet, then we split it into strips and then it is weaved. Once it dries out it becomes very sturdy. Then to protect it, we put a marine varnish over it to prevent the hide from going soft again when it is in contact with snow.

GV Snowshoes Company Overview

GV Snowshoes Company Overview: The company name is GV Snowshoes. It is a family company that was founded in 1959. For next season we’re going to be on our 51st year making snowshoes. It’s an aboriginal company. Traditionally, the snowshoes were built by the aboriginals and we just kept on going with the tradition. We sell about 50,000 pairs of snowshoes a year. That includes all of our product lines starting from wood traditional show shoes, going down to aluminum show shoes, different grades of aluminum plus injected modeled plastic and carbon fiber snowshoes.
