Fischer Sports Silent Spider Cross Country Skis: This is Fischer’s new Silent Spider. This ski is intended to be used in and out of track. It has a very unique grip system to it. On the bottom we have divided the ski into three parts. The center section where you see the red is for grip and the tail section where you see the metal here and in the tip is for control. So when this ski is being used out of track and you’re going down a downhill and it’s a little bit icy, you have good control with the metal in the tip and the tail but under normal skiing conditions the pattern is cut completely across the base of the ski and gives you good grip.
