Elixir Strings Are Available in Two Coatings: Elixir strings are available in two coatings: Polyweb and Nanoweb. Polyweb is the original coating and due to feedback from players, one of the things they were looking for after playing the Polyweb is the opportunity to also have a brighter tone. So we, many years later, introduced the Nanoweb coating. They’re both made from the same polymer. Polyweb is for the player that likes a warmer tone, like that sort of today tone, that long, consistent tone. Nanoweb is for the player that likes a thinner coating and gets the same long life from Elixir strings but likes a little brighter tone right out of the box, more like a non-coated string sound and tone.
