Electro-Voice Tour X-Series Monitors: Hi, my name is Josh Bartunik, product manager with Electro-Voice with the new Tour X-Series of loud speakers. The Tour X monitors are actually very unique in the sense that we have a patent-pending design. We call is SST, or signal synchronized transducers. The fundamental aspect of SST is that instead of having a single baffled piece of wood that has both the horn and the woofer in it, we actually take the horn section, raise it up, split it from the other portion that has the woofer, and we utilize that area as the port. Additionally, we can actually bring these two acoustics centers of the compression driver and woofer closer together, and in the back, if you were able to actually see in, you would see that the voice coils are aligned on the same plane. So the benefit to the customer is we actually achieve summation between the woofer and the compression driver mechanically in the box without having to actually manipulate the crossover so that you get phase summation, you get great tonal balance, and you get a monitor that actually sounds terrific.
