About Deuter Kid Comfort II: So this is our best selling model, the Deuter Kid Comfort II. What we’ve done with this model is we’ve taken all of the technology we have learned in our years producing backpacks and we’ve taken that technology and we’ve moved it into the back system on this pack. So what you’ve found is a pack that’s going to carry very similar to an Expedition Trekking pack so when you have your child in there it’s going to be a very comfortable, very enjoyable experience. So it’s a pack that when you’re out there, you’re really going to want to use. We use an adjustable harness system on here. It’s real simple and easy to use. Using Velcro, you can just undo that. You can slide it up and down into these rungs to adjust these to fit a varying amount of body sizes. With that we also have a nice padded waist belt that will actually have some pivot to it so when you have this pack on, when you’re moving around, the waist belt will stay locked onto your waist and then the pack’s going to be allowed to move with you. So again, a very comfortable experience for you.

Deuter Kid Comfort II Features: On the main pack body, we have a side release buckle which is going to make it real easy to get the child in and out of the cockpit. For the adjustment for the child harness, we have a Velcro up in here that allows you to slide this up and down and really adjust that and dial it in for the child itself. Plus, you can adjust the seat height with this buckle right here. There’s a similar one on the other side. Plus you have a nice large buckle right on the inside that allows you to raise and lower the seat height. Also on the side we have built in hydration compatibility so you can put a drinking reservoir in here. That keeps the weight real close to your back so again, it’s a very comfortable experience. On the back of the pack, you have a nice large storage compartment plus you have a shove it pocket in the top here and then an extra little storage pocket here. The kick stand will tuck right up underneath making a nice small design plus it’s real easy to reach back and open that up giving it a nice stable footprint.

Deuter Kid Comfort II is Safety Tested: One other thing that Deuter has been very instrumental in has been the safety testing of child carriers. Since the mid-90’s, we’ve worked with a safety institute in Germany called TUV to institute safety testing for child carriers. We produced the first safety tested child carrier. The safety standards that we go through not only will test the fit of the harness to the child, but also the harness to the adult. All the materials—we make sure there’s no harmful materials in there plus the durability of the pack. We make sure that there’s no excess wear or anything after the cycle tests. With that we have to go through those same testings every two years.
