About The Gold 17 Snowshoe: Hi Jake Tham with Crescent Moon Snow Shoes and I would like to talk to you about our Gold 17, obviously a very large shoe recommended for people up to above 225 pounds not necessarily the size of the person but rather all the equipment that you are carrying. We have sold this shoe primarily to specialized users, people who are in expedition conditions specifically the military applications. This shoe happen to be used by the security forces at the Olympics here in Salt Lake City in the 2004 games. Like all of the rest of our Gold series shoes the Gold 17 has a very unique binding, this happens to be right binding, anatomically shaped. To get into the binding you simply slide your foot in, pull on the single pull loop adjustable strap and make a one time adjustment to the inside and then ratchet yourself in there after. The 17 also comes with an additional set of traversing claws making it ideal for not only back country conditions but fro traversing across steep inclines or going down hill, it is ideal for control.

Crescent Moon snow Shoe Company I would like to tell you or rather answer the question why would you choose to buy Crescent Moon shoes or any other snow shoe in the market. There are a number of other choices and the reason I think that we make a compelling case is because of our binding. This has been the focus of our development since we began and back in 1997. The bindings are the most important part of any snow shoe that you might look at. In the case of the Crescent Moon this is what we call the SPL or the single pool loop adjustable binding, it is anatomically shaped this is what happens to be a left binding so when you put your left foot into the binding you simply slide it in, you pull up one single strap and the entire binding comes together capturing your foot in all directions not only from top, down and side to side but very uniquely from front to back. You make a one time adjustment on the inside of your binding strap to account for the length of you foot and every time there after it is simply a matter of ratcheting yourself into binding. That is for sure the fastest, quickest and best binding on the market. What this front enclosure allows us to do is gain something very unique we put a toe claw on the front of our bindings which allows your foot to go through it is full and complete and natural rotation so that on any train you feel as if whatever your foot is doing you can do the same.
