Alpina Control Cross-Country Ski - About

Alpina Control Cross-Country Ski – About: This is our model Alpina Control. This is the model we’ve also had in the line for some time. It’s our number one selling touring ski right now in the market. It’s got some great traits to it. Wood core air channel makes it nice and light. It has our Scuff Tuff much rougher type surface, release the snow, more durability. It’s got 12 mm of side-cut, meaning it’s wider in the tip, narrower at the waist of the ski, so that you have good stability. The ski is nice and lively when you’re skiing on it, just an all-around treat when you’re out there for the start-up skier all the way up to a really good skier. It’s utilizing our molded fish-scale type base. We’ve always felt that a molded base is much more universal over different types of snow conditions. It really wears well, and it gives you good glide and grip in most any kind of conditions. You do need, however, to put some glide wax or rub on or something on the tips and tails because the snow is very abrasive and it’s very important to treat your skis so you have a good experience every time you go. If you have some trouble with grip at some point in time, you can also add some grip on there. A little bit of spray on grip wax does the trick, and it really works well. A great choice for an all-around good experience for cross-country skiing.
