Cleveland Golf CG 14 Wedge Additional Features
Cleveland Golf CG 14 Wedge Additional Features: Next we have the gel back insert, this is an interesting technology we developed a few years ago, we used it on our iron lines originally and what we found over the years with a lot of testing, was the combination between the metal used in the head and the gel back insert, this is stainless steel, it really improves the feel and helps dampen vibration slightly on the mishit shots, but it still allows the necessary responsiveness and feel for shots around the green. Next, on the CG 14 you'll notice there is a slightly more generous sole than on a lot of our other wedge models, although this may sound somewhat counter-intuitive, we designed this shape with the PGA Tour, this is what they actually preferred on this model, they wanted us to have a little bit more generous heel section, and what we found with the testing with our players is that this helps improve sand shots particularly, because this is a very crucial part of the sole of the wedge during sand shots, and you'll see that this actually has a reverse C shape, it has a typical standard sole width in the center of the sole, that allows for pretty decent all round functionality, and then a little but more generous on the toe as well. There's a little bit more beef there for forgiveness, and the overall wider sole will also help prevent fat shots a little more, so we like to call our CG 14 our all round wedge, because it has the best features that the tour looks for and will also benefit the average player. Finally the one thing to note, it's probably going to be difficult to see, but there's a slight amount of offset. Offset is the distance between the front of the hozzel to the beginning of the leading edge, and the CG 14 has a slightly higher offset value than some of our other wedges, and this allows it to transition a little bit better from typical iron offsets, like most cavity back iron sets are offset a little bit more than blades, so as you'll see there's somewhat of a cavity back appearance to the GC 14, and this slight amount of offset in the CG 14 transitions from offset cavity back irons into the wedges alot more naturally than some of our blade wedges. So, these are just a few features of the CG 14, and this is the CG 14 wedge from Cleveland golf.
Cleveland Golf Company Overview
Cleveland Golf Company Overview: Hi. I'm Scott with Cleveland Golf. I'm the Product Manager of Wedges, and I want to give you a little background on Cleveland Wedges. We've originally been known as a wedge company, but we have a full comprehensive line of products. But, the one reason that we're successful in wedges, is that we take a very interesting approach to product design. We work very closely with our PGA Tour staff, in the design of the shape, functionality, and aesthetics of all of our wedge products. Boo Weekley, Vijay Singh, Woody Austin, Jerry Kelly (just to name a few), love all our wedge products. They're very fond of our shapes, and I know if you ever try and take a look at our products, you're gonna love them as much as we do.
