Callaway FT Hybrid- About : This is the FT Hybrid. It’s a brand new design for us in the Fusion family. Fusion, because it comprises of stainless steel in the body, and a high density sole. The sole comprises about 50% of the total weight of the head. It has two functions. One is it that it has a rail shape, which improves the turf interaction, makes the club very versatile from a variety of impact locations, and the second thing is that, it offsets the extra weight in the head because of this, this hozzle which is here. Now, a hozzle is an unusual feature for a Callaway design, but, uh, the fusion nature of this head allows us to integrate it. It has the benefit of having a constant distance between the leading edge of the head here and the shaft axis, for all lofts, and that gives a very different look than we’ve been able to produce in previous hybrids, something which we think a lot of players will appreciate.

Callaway FT Hybrid- Gary Player A lot of pros are now going to hybrid, because you can get the ball up out of the rough. For example, with this club here, this is a 21 degree hybrid club. It’s equivalent to a 3 iron. If I put the ball in the rough with this club, I can get it out and I can get it high. With a 3 iron, I cannot do that. A weekend golfer has no chance out of the rough for that 3 iron. Now, I’m going to put a ball in the rough here, I’m even going to stand on it a little bit. Now that’s really down there. The best that a weekend golfer could get out of that lie is a 7 iron. I’m going to take this. I’m going to swing normally, and that ball went out at least, I would say, 200 yards. 190 to 200 yards. You couldn’t do that with a 3 iron. It’s impossible. Almost impossible for most professionals. This club is going to make a great difference, and has made a great difference to all golfers around the world.
