Callaway FT Fairway Woods - Alan Hocknell

Callaway FT Fairway Woods - Alan Hocknell: This is the FT fairway wood. Unique in the fusion family in that it combines two materials, stainless steel and a higher density steel in the sole plate. This sole plate comprises almost 505 of the total weight of the head. The sole has a couple of other functions too, it;s shape it very much designed for turf interaction, it has a dual runner here providing great turf interactions on a variety of locations on the golf course. Also within this sole we can produce a different characteristic in either draw or neutral weighting, depending upon your swing tendency. And that allows the club to be more versatile than would be the case normally. The third thing that we do here is introduce a hozzel which is unique for Callaway golf clubs, and this is made possible by that high density sole place which offsets the extra weight which is now up above the crown of the club. This hozzel allows us to do a number of different things, one of which is to have a constant distance between the leading edge of the golf club and the and the shaft axis, and this stays the same regardless of the loft of the golf club. This provides a different look which we know variety of different players of different abilities will appreciate. Overall this is a very unique package and we think it's extremely versatile and you should go try it.

Callaway FT Fairway Woods - Jeff Colton

Callaway FT Fairway Woods - Jeff Colton: An exciting new offer in woods is here from Callaway golf, the new FT fairway wood and hybrids. You'll notice something very different on these woods for Callaway golf woods and that's a hozzel. And the reason we put a hozzel on these woods is purely for aesthetic reasons, many better players like to look down and see that transition from the hozzel into the heel or par region of the face, and they like to see very little what we call face progression or onset, and so we put a hozzel on there for aesthetic reasons. Now when you put a hozzel on a wood you you tend to raise the center of gravity and pull it towards the heel, right all that weight is sitting up there, that's not necessarily a good thing for performance. So what we've done is we've invented a tungsten infused steel, and this entire sole plate here is made out of that dense material. And that pulls the center of gravity back down and towards the center of the face where it belongs and where it optimizes performance.
