Callaway Big Bertha Irons – About: Redesigning the look, design and feel of super game improvement irons. Taking forgiveness to new heights. Introducing the new Big Bertha Irons from Callaway Golf. I-Brids blend the control and accuracy of irons with the forgiveness, distance and versatility of hybrids. The low deep center of gravity, helps get the ball in the air quickly. And the extremely wide sole helps improve turf interaction. Game improving mid and short irons provide the ultimate in forgiveness. With increased offset, a large effective hitting area and a constant width sole that helps improve turf interaction. Seamless performance progression throughout the set provides consistent distance separation with optimal trajectories. Extreme notch weighting redistributes more weight to the perimeter for a higher moment of inertia and more stability. VFT technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness. S2H2 increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hossle, and repositioning it in the perimeter of the club head. A 360 degree undercut channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the center of gravity lower and farther back. And finally, the polycarbonate tip plug at the end of the shaft is an advanced version of the original true board design. Dampening vibration for enhanced field and performance. Experience a new level of forgiveness with the new Big Bertha Irons from Callaway Golf. Callaway Golf, a better game by design.
Callaway Big Bertha Irons - Alan Hocknell
Callaway Big Bertha Irons – Alan Hocknell: This is the Big Bertha Iron set for 2008. In the six iron and above, there are some design features consistent with previous Bertha iron, such as a wide sole and a thick top line. However in the three, four and five iron, we introduce the I-Brid concept, which has an even wider sole for a better turf interaction. And also allows us to make the center of gravity deeper than ever before. This allows us to produce even more forgiveness, in terms of getting the ball up in the air consistently on those longer harder to hit irons. The performance of this is similar to that of hybrid woods. Such that now we have an integrated iron set, where players only need to learn how to use irons, instead of having to have distance gaps that might occur with hybrid woods in their set. Players have developed an ability — I think to those who will get the most out of this integrated set.
Callaway Big Bertha Irons - Jeff Colton
Callaway Big Bertha Irons – Jeff Colton: Our new Big Bertha Irons for 2008 are truly a revolution in the category. Starting with the same oversized consistent width sole in the mid and short irons, the extreme notch weighting, 360 undercut, all about fun and forgiveness and friendliness. But moving into the long irons, we've created a new category called the I-Brid. I dash Brid, the iron type hybrid. And you can see we've taken all the weight that was here, and really moved it even lower. And in a huge sole that lowers that center of gravity, and makes it very easy to get under the golf ball and get the ball up in the air. It also distributes that center of gravity further back, which makes the club overall very forgiving. So, a design for the golfer who maybe struggles getting the ball up in the air. Maybe isn't very consistent. The new Big Bertha Irons will really bring a solution to their game.
