Giant Bowery Series – About: Hi, my name is John Mundhall, I'm Giant USA's Product Manager. I'm here to show you the 2009 Bowery series. Whether you're a messenger, or just on a mission, the lightweight, alux, aluminum, Bowery Series is the fastest way across town. There's four bikes in this series and all feature rear wheels with foot lock rear hubs, included with 17 tooth fixed and free-wheel gears. You can ride with two brakes, one brake or no brakes or just one speed: fast. What I'm holding here is the Bowery '84. It was inspired by the year that aero pursuit bikes rolled the L.A. Olympics. Features include a custom bend alloy aero handlebar, a Segeno Messenger crankset and a gold KMC double chain. It also has classic, track-style alloy toe-clips, with double-leather straps and a leather, riveted, retro-saddle. It also features deep dish 42mm rims and high flange hubs. Other bikes in this series are the Bowery '72, inspired from Giant's first year on the job, the Bowery Mashup with a flat, alloy handlebar to mix a little aero with a little currier and the original Bowery with a custom-bend, track-style dropbar and a durable, double-walled alloy rims.
