Giant Bowery '72: If you could define 2009 as the year of some-kind-of-rider, it would be the year of the urban rider. Urban cycling is really taking off, really because of three reasons: people want to be more fit, there's also the fact that gasoline costs a lot and people are more environmentally conscious. So really this is the year of the urban rider and Giant is celebrating that with four models of the Bowery. We've had a bike called the Bowery that been successful for several years. We've added three new models this year and this is one of those. The Bowery '72. '72 was the year that Giant Bicycle got started and that's the reason for that name. This has the Giant logo from that year, which is actually quite beautiful. This bike is a single-speed, or a fixed gear, very important with the urban crowd. It has this special curved bar. It also has this great Arrow 32 in. spoke wheels and it even has some terrific classic touches like these alloy toe clips with double leather straps. This is really a sensational bike, it's one of those kind of bikes that when you ride it, you make a statement; you're helping the environment and you're an urban rider that's very hip.
