About G-Force Supersonic Ski

About G-Force Supersonic Ski: Hi, I’m Jed Duke from Blizzard Sport USA, and I’m the Division Manager. I’d like to talk to you today about the G-Force Supersonic. It is our top front side carbon type ski, 72 mm in the waist, packed with technology. It is a system type ski; our system is called the IQ system. It is a fully integrated system. You can see the channels that run down the center of the ski, fully integrated, no screws, no glue. The channels themselves are built into the ski under the top sheet. The interface itself slides on and is fixed in the middle with a central pin. The binding is allowed to flex underfoot around this central pin, giving it an excellent overall round feel.

Construction of G-Force Supersonic

Construction of G-Force Supersonic: IQ system is also quite high performance. It provides very direct energy transfer to the edge. This is a result of the binding actually sitting on the top of the ski. There is direct contact which builds a very torsionally strong platform, again, for direct energy transfer through the boot, through the binding, to the edges of the ski.

High Performance of G-Force Supersonic

High Performance of G-Force Supersonic: The last technology I’d like to talk about in this ski is really getting back to the fundamentals of high-performance ski design. This ski is built with full wood core, with Pitinol, and with side wall. Those materials, those qualities, give us extremely good performance and extremely good durability. G-Force Supersonic, again, 72 mm in the waist, 15.5 meter radius,a nd it’s the ultimate front side groomer machine.

Power Frame Construction of G-Force Supersonic

Power Frame Construction of G-Force Supersonic: We have manipulated the power frame in such a way, and what I mean by manipulating, if you can see, there are small cuts put into it. These cuts allow the ski to flex a little bit better, especially through the tip and especially through the tail. If you look at other models in our line, you’ll see the cuts are in different positions, so it actually allows us to customize the flex and the ski for the target group. The higher performing ski has less cuts. The ski that demands more, hard snow, edge grip type performance, less cuts. You see it in a race ski; there’s no cuts at all. You see it in a multi-condition ski; you’ll see many more cuts.

Power Frame Technology of G-Force Supersonic

Power Frame Technology of G-Force Supersonic: Other technology that the Supersonic has is a power frame technology. The power frame itself is simply more material running down the ski through the IQ system, through the tail, and up the other side. It’s simply putting more material where it counts – over the edge. What that does for us is gives us better edge grip and better overall performance.
