Bionic Silver: Alternative to Jumbo Grips
Bionic Silver: Alternative to Jumbo Grips: There is an alternative and the jumbo grips. I certainly get those questions on a very regualy basis here on our golf course. the one other option could be a pair of gloves, because with the jumbo grips you're going to lose some club head speed, the golfer is unable to get their hand completely around it. the jumbo grip has some measurable alleviation of chronic arthritis pain. But, a pair of gloves perhaps would allow the golfer to use a normal size grip with their golf club, enabling them to get their hands around the grip. but the pair of gloves could give them some cushion and some ability to hold that golf club better than going to the larger grip. it gives them the ability to hold the club, not only with less pain from their arthritis, but also to hold the club lighter. the lightness of the grip then translates to more feel with the golf club and additional club head speed. and one further benefit is they actually.. many golfers release the club at the top of the swing and there is a dropping of the golf club and the right hand releases. but with the second glove on the right hand, it does tend to give the golfer the benefit to hold the golf club at a better position and not drop the club at the top.
Bionic Silver: Ball Marker
Bionic Silver: Ball Marker: One of the other features is that it doesnt have the typical ball marker. i notice that its a larger marker and it seems to be magnetized. why did you do that? Well my wife was having some trouble seeing, so she said to make the ball marker bigger, so we did, so you can see it, without your bifocles on. but also, you know, the traditional ball marker is harder to take off and the wear and tear sets in. Its easier to take on and off. its easier to see. i guess you can say its more user friendly.
Bionic Silver: Creator Interview
Bionic Silver: Creator Interview this is our new silver glove. we've noticed that there are a number of golfers that are looking for more comfort while playing the game and to reduce pain. but, as you look at the glove, jim, what i notice thats different is that there is an additional row of pads. the another thing that's obvious to me when i look at the product is that the width of the pads varies at each joint if you will, or between the joints; and the height of the pad seems to be greater than on the classic glove. is that correct? we've actually changed relatively the size and the location and depth of pads to follow more the natural variations in your hand, especially if your hand has been through a long period of time of wear and tear, so if you tend to lose natural padding, if you've done a lot of things with your hands over the years. we want to sort of bring that back to your hand, if you will. so you can have that more natural comfort that you know you had when you were 18, but when you get to be about 38 you sort of know you lost some of this padding. we sort of want to give that back to you in the glove well, you're wearing a pair. when we introduced this product we made the decision to sell them as a pair versus just one glove, and maybe you can explain to us why we decided to do that or help me with explaining that. well id love to do that if now is a good time. i think one of the thing that is interesting about our hands is that when you grip a golf club, you actually grip it with both hands. if we get a little bit advanced in years, our hands advance with us, and both hands are bad. so both hands are having issues, so we thought, well if both hands are gonna have some potential soreness, then both hands will benefit from having bionic technologies on both hands.
Bionic Silver: Customer Feedback
Bionic Silver: Customer Feedback: See how gnarly they are, because ive got bad arthritis and this one is even worse. and its so hard to find a golf glove that fits and gives support when you've got arthritis. and a regular golf glove just doesnt give the support, and the support is in the key places where you need a little padding. i have some problem here, with this joint right in here. and the pad came right across there. it stops the vibration actually. i had a good feel, but it wasnt a hurting feel. so it absorbed the impact and it didnt hurt my hand. so i enjoyed it very much, better than a regular glove. no hurting, no. So they've done a lot of notching in my tendons and ive had 3 surgeries on this hand and 4 surgeries on this hand. i was looking like i wasnt gonna be able to play anymore, and normally i can play. i was hoping that they would sell them in pairs because im a person that has to wear them on both hands.
Bionic Silver: Flex Zones
Bionic Silver: Flex Zones: I noticed looking at the flex zones on the back. they also are larger, and go all the way across the finger at the top. i see 2 additional motion zones back here on the back side of the hand. can you speak on those? if you think about the wear and tear, it changes also.. we tend to have potentially more soreness in our joints.. they just dont feel quite as good in the morning, potentially. so, here what we've done, we put the wider areas to make it even a little bit easier to flex and we actually used a different material that's a little more joint supportive and it actually makes your joints feel a little bit warmer when you first put the gloves on, even though its breathable it still has that overall initial comfort feeling when you first put the glove on. What material is that? Thats actually thin skin over the joints. Same as in the wrist, right. You mentioned about the 2 expansion zones, when we tend to grip we actually have muscles in our hand that expand and we want the glove to gently open up to make it a little bit easier when you're gripping something.
Bionic Silver: Glove Testing
Bionic Silver: Glove Testing: And didn't you test this glove with a hundred golfers? Can you just show a couple of results of that test? We'd love to, we actually sent it out to a 114 golfers who admitted that they had extra wear and tear on their hands. And 102 today have actually sent back their responses in a written form, which is fantastic as you know - it's hard to get that many people to acknowledge what you're doing. But they also filled out the whole sheet and then wrote comments. It's interesting looking at their overall responses but 99% of them would recommend the glove to professional golfers which was wowee, that's pretty good. And the other thing we asked was "does the glove get rid of pain and fatigue while you're golfing?" And 99% said "yes" and some of them were quite emphatic about their "yes. And that was very comforting to, because really that's what we're all about. Quality of life. You can just allow them to feel comfortable, you know, they don't like wooden seats on their golf carts. They'd really like a nice comfortable pair of gloves on their hands.

Bionic Silver: More Comfort
Bionic Silver: More Comfort: So the major point of difference with the Bionic Silver glove which is sold in pairs is that you get all the performance benefits that you get in the classic, but with more comfort and less pain - if you had been a golfer that had been experiencing pain playing the game, so once again you would enjoy the game more with more comfort and less pain. Is that a fair analysis? I'd say that's a good analysis. You get all the benefits of the classic gloves, but you get several additional benefits, you have the additional rear pad, you have this additional support system that includes the base of your thumbs, which again is a common wear and tear issue for some folks. Theres alot of additional comfort benefits for golfers. So we're reaching a category of golfer, that we really might not have been reaching before with the classic? Well, hopefully in a way that we can just give them that additional comfort, maybe even a little bit less fatigue and be able to play more golf. I think, one golfer said to me "You know, I've been looking for something for 5 years to play more than 9 holes of golf" and he got this silver glove and went "wowee", for the first time in 5 years he could play more than 9 holes. And wow, isn't that what it's all about? That's why we're still working on gloves, to make golfers feel better and enjoy the game.
Bionic Silver: Pads
Bionic Silver:Pads: Now why are the pads wider and bigger and so forth in the Silver versus the Classic? Well I think some folks desire some more comfort when they're gripping their club and they need more, maybe they've had more wear and tear, maybe their hands have had other issues or more soreness in their hands. They need additional comfort. Category of golfers I think currently are the ones that are using the extremely larger grips, the ones that are too big, and of course from a performance standpoint, if you add that much mass to the grip of the golf club, it's more difficult for the golfer to release his hands through the shot. So, with the silver glove, we're accomplishing that same benefit, in other words they don't have to grip the golf club as tightly to have control of it, but it's easier for them to move their hands through the shot than with that big oversized grip. Now that's a great point, actually this glove, because of the additional roller pads and the additional thickness in the roller pads, there's even more surface contact, so it would encourage you to have a lighter grip. The thickness of the gloves allows you to hold the club even more flexibly. We've had a number of golfers in tests tell us that, I'm not saying that, the test was telling us that. And also, your points an excellent point, when you oversize your grip, you tend to lose your wrists mobility on the club, so if you can take that oversized grip and put it into a glove, you allow your wrist to have that natural follow through and we've had golfers say, "Well I'm going to take my bigger grips off and just wear the glove because it allows me to have my natural wrist mobility".
Bionic Silver: Wrist
Bionic Silver: Wrist: Now you were just focusing on the wrist and obviously that is a big big point of difference in the Silver Glove versus the Classic. I notice this thin skin material and theres alot of support there. How does this relate to that category of golfer? Why is that necessary and why have we incorporated that into the silver glove? Well that's a great point, I think that we're talking about wear and tear of our hands, but our wrists also get the wear and tear and probably more than we all want to admit! I'm sure, because it's exceedingly common to have issues in our wrists as we get above a certain age. And so we actually put a wrist support system into this glove, that does a couple of things to help support the wrist. In other words, you can adjust it to get a little more snugness around your wrist, theres actually an area around your wrist, theres a membrane that would fit over what we call your distranoma. Just like if you're going to have a kneepad to have a cut out for your kneecap - we do the same for your wrist. I think that helps. Even the velcro is easier on this glove than a typical velcro, so it's easier for folk's with "wear and tear" hands, they don't have to -take it off - it's just a little easier to do.
