Metrophones Drummer's Metronome Headphones
Big Bang Gunnery Headphones Series: Hi, Bob Casher with Big Bang Distribution here to talk about metrophones. Metrophones are basically designed for the drummer. One of the biggest problems drummers have is that they can’t hear the metronome. They evolved from basically a metronome system that you can put on your head and still be able to hear our drums plus be able to hear an audio source. So what we’ve done is we’ve gotten a set of gunnery style headphones that were used in the military and used for shooting, giving you 29db of isolation. They’ve got a built in liquid filled cushion, giving you that separation and better isolation. A real heavy clamping system, and that clamping system is important because it keeps the isolation in. And what we did is we added a metronome system into it, and the metronome system comes through this little click right here. Plus we’ve also added a set of cost reference monitors. You can adjust the tempo up or down, and you also can plug in any audio source in it. It also is supplied with a stereo removable cord, so you can plug that into an iPod and do a stereo system, or into a recording board. There’s also a line out so you can send the click back to somebody else. If you’re teaching a lesson or you’re recording, you want to lay the click down as a track, so you’ve got all kinds of different options here. These are built in metronome systems, isolation headphones, and a great set of reference monitors, all in one.
