About Giant Bicyles Maestro Suspension Technology: Let me introduce you to Maestro Suspension technology. Now before I get into the nuts and bolts of exactly how it works, I want to describe to you the three goals we had when we first sat down to design the suspension. The first is efficiency. The second is independence. And the third is activity. A full suspension design, that incorporates all of these three characteristics, and does them all very well, is exactly what we were looking for in Maestro Suspension technology. Maestro is very easy to understand. It's very easy to explain. We explain it like this. We use the four, two, one principle. When I say four, I'm talking about the four pivot points, which occur here, here, here, and here. Four pivot points allow two rocker arms, here's the upper rocker arm, and the lower rocker arm, hidden behind the chainring here. And what happens is, working all in conjunction with each other, it creates a single floating pivot point. That single floating pivot point occurs right between the big chainring and the middle chainring. As long as the chain is in that floating pivot point, and it doesn't matter what gear you're in, the suspension remains totally active, totally efficient, and completely independent. So as you're pedaling the bike, all of your pedaling force goes into the rear wheel, exactly where it needs to go, not into fighting your suspension. The second characteristic is activity. No matter what gear you're in, the suspension remains completely active. Whether you're going up a hill, or down a hill, the suspension remains completely active under the rider. And the third characteristic that I mentioned is independence. When we talk about independence, we're talking about braking independence. Simply is this, if you're on the brakes, or off the brakes, does the suspension work completely and totally actively?
