The Perception microphone line serves this entry level home recording and project studio market. It consists of different models for different applications, and also different price points, such as the Perception 170 for high head, overhead instrument micing. The 420 and Perception 220 are true large diaphragm condenser microphones within this line, also in different price points. For example, the Perception 220 with single cardioid polar pattern, versus the Perception 420 already gives you multi-pattern transducer elements, which is outstanding at these certain price points. So together, this is the Perception Microphone line from AKG acoustics.
